City Guide - Milano

Here is a small guide of good places to visit, eat, and drink if you are taking a trip to Milan.

Place to Visit :

Bedroom at Villa Necchi Campiglio.
  • Visit Villa Necchi Campiglio, an elegant 1930s villa designed by Piero Portaluppi, famous for its stunning Art Deco architecture. Also, check out Villa Invernizzi nearby, where you can see pink flamingos through the fence.
A villa in Conciliazione.
  • You can stroll around the neighborhood near the Conciliazione metro station, a very classic Milanese area that is simply beautiful.

Villa Clea during an event.
  • Visit Villa Clea.

Entryway in Porta Venezia.
  • Always take a look at the entryways in the Porta Venezia area and around Piazza Borromei.

Breakfast :

Terroir.

Bar Luce at Fondazione Prada.
  • For a more contemporary breakfast, you can visit Terroir and do some shopping there; the owner is lovely and works with his elderly father. There's also Loste Café, which has a slightly cold Scandinavian-style decor but offers delicious pastries. There's also Nowhere Coffee, Pavé, and Polveri, which I love for their homemade bread. For a more typical Italian breakfast, known as "colazione," you can go to Bar Luce, Gattullo (where I recommend a toast and a cappuccino), Pasticceria Sissi, and Pasticceria Marchesi

Places to eat and drink :

Bar Nico.

Pasta at Rovello 18.

Panino De Santis.
  • For lunch or dinner or Aperitivo, check out Rovello 18, Associazione Vini e Salumi Naturali (aperitivo), Bar Nico  (aperitivo), De Santis (Lunch), Giacomo Bistrot (Dinner), Bar Basso (aperitivo) , Ultramarino (aperitivo), Lù Bar, and Erba Brusca.

Pasta at Giacomo Bistrot.

Bar Basso.

Escape from Milan and see nature :

Visit Lago di Como, Val di Mello, Lago d’Orta, the Langhe region, and Santa Margherita Ligure.

I hope you love our little recommendations and thoroughly enjoy your time in Milan.

Love, Daphné
